The life and times of one of the 20th century's greatest entertainers - Frank Sinatra. Hosted by HPR's Guy Steele, the program features recordings, radio and television appearances, and live performances. Also included are excerpts from interviews with Sinatra himself, as well as commentary from arrangers, musicians, songwriters and others who worked with him during his long career.

On Saturday, March 3, American Routes returns to HPR-1 from 6 - 8 pm. This two-hour weekly program presents a broad range of American music — blues and jazz, gospel and soul, old-time country and rockabilly, Cajun and zydeco, Tejano and Latin, roots rock and pop, avant-garde and classical. For the last 20 years it has been hosted and produced by Nick Spitzer, a folklorist and a professor of anthropology and American studies at Tulane University.
